Legislative Update: Member Engagement Leads to Key Changes on HB 385

NABIP Utah would like to extend a special thank you to Representative James Dunnigan for hosting a membership meeting to discuss HB 385 and its potential impact on Level Funding in Utah. The call was a valuable opportunity for open dialogue, with 44 NABIP Utah members participating in the discussion.
During the meeting, Representative Dunnigan took the time to listen to all perspectives, addressing concerns raised by our members. As a result of this engagement, he has agreed to make significant compromises and is redrafting the bill to better reflect the needs of brokers and their clients.
This outcome highlights the power of member involvement in shaping legislative decisions. When brokers come together and make their voices heard, meaningful change happens. We encourage all NABIP Utah members to stay engaged and take an active role in advocating for our industry.
