About Us

The Utah State Chapter of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP-UT) was chartered by the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP) on May 15, 1985 with Robert M. Johnson as its first president. The charter members included nine passionate insurance producers. Now, the chapter membership exceeds 300 strong. Local Chapters within Utah include the Northern Chapter, Salt Lake Chapter and Southern Chapter.

Mission Statement

1. Protection and Advancement of Health Insurance Agents' Role:

    • Advocating for the recognition and preservation of the crucial role of health insurance agents.
    • Promoting quality and affordable healthcare through advocacy at both legislative and business levels, including support for innovations, products, and legal frameworks that enhance healthcare accessibility, quality, and broker-friendly industry practices.

2. Engagement in Legislation and Industry Advocacy:

    • Active participation in shaping policies and regulations affecting health insurance agents and clients.
    • Keeping members informed and engaged in legislative processes; advocating for policies that support ethical practice and industry growth.              


3. Professional Development and Upholding Social Trust:

    • Providing continuous learning and skill enhancement opportunities, staying current with industry trends and changes.
    • Emphasizing ethical practices and building trust between agents, clients, and the public.
    • Integrating and educating about technological advancements and digital tools for modern, efficient practices.


4. Community Building and Member Support:

    • Fostering a supportive network among members for mentorship, collaboration, and peer support.
    • Offering resources and services for personal and professional well-being, including career development for new and established agents.
